Day 1 : Welcome in the most green and cleanest city in Africa

At the amazing Kigali international airport, formalities quickly settled and bags promptly recovered. You meet our welcoming and professional drive-guide who will greet you in style and wish you a pleasant stay. On your way to Radisson blue/Marriot Hotel, you get a treat: well-made roads, lovely green routes-borders, beautiful well pruned trees slap the eyes when passing…roundabouts are designed with arts…yet this is the beginning.

Day 2: Genocide Memorial to Akagera National Park

 From one of our Luxurious Hotels in Kigali ( Radison Blue or Marriot Hotel) where you retired from the airport the previous evening. You will meet our professional guide down at the reception. After a short briefing about the day activities, drive some minutes to the Kigali Genocide Memorial and get to learn about the recent and the bloodiest genocide of the humanity.

During the Kigali city tour, you will have a chance to enter in the parliament building which hosts the “Campaign against Genocide” museum and experience how soldiers leaded by the President Paul Kagame have been able to stop the genocide. Later on, stopover at the restaurant in downtown for lunch.

After lunch, continue driving more in Eastern Rwanda toward Akagera National Park 

Over evening, retire in Rusizi Tented Lodge in the bottom of the park.

Meet some of the animals and birds around your room, and if needed, go for a night game drive.

 

 

Day 3: Long day game drive

After breakfast, check out the Ruzizi Tented Lodge and start a long day game drive with your packed lunch. Visit the hippo’s beach; meet a variety of mammals and birds. Crocodiles, hippos, elephants, giraffes, buffalos and by chance, even some cats will be at the appointment.

Later after noon, get out of the park and drive back to Kigali

 

Check in at Radisson blue or Marriot Hotel.

 

Day 4: Cultural Village near the Volcano National Park.

 

After breakfast, you will start driving through the beautiful rolling hills, bypassing maize, tea and banana plantations on a comfortable paved road. It takes approximately 2.5 hours from Kigali to the last stop in Musanze. 

Before checking in the Bisate Lodge owned by the famous wilderness Safaris, you will go for lunch in Musanze city while contemplating the five giant volcanoes chain aside your seat. 

After lunch , a short walk in the indigenous village neighboring the Park will be rich in traditional and cultural experience. Villagers are very welcoming and happy to receive new faces. The INTORE dancers are beautifully adorned, with spears in their dance, their hands, shoulder and hips in rhythm from one side to another following the rhythm and sound of the drums, beads and bells around feet and necks to welcome you as a groom or a bride. You will surely enjoy seeing these spectacular specialized dancers.

Over evening check in the Volcano Park View Lodge, a bush retirement Rwandan king styled palace hidden behind the last hill in front of a very dark jungle. 

 

Day 5: Mountain Gorilla trekking

 

After an early breakfast, start Hike from Kinigi rangers station to the volcano flank to meet the biggest primates in the world, giving you a height gain of more than 2000 meters. The trek takes between 3 and 4 hours. 

After trekking, go for lunch at the Hotel.

Later afternoon, drive to Kigali and fly back

After breakfast, go for a authentic nature walk in Volcano National Park. After registration at Rwanda Development Board at their offices in Kinigi. You will penetrate the dark jungle far inside gorillas kingdom, project your eyes between more than 6 volcanoes, the true natural pyramids stretch in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda roundabout. The smell, the temperature, the emotions are definitely different from what we have in town. At lunch time you will exit the forest and grab your hot and fresh meal at the local restaurant after what you will go to relax and boating, canoeing or kayaking in Ruhondo lake which sleep in front of giant volcanoes meandering in the water.

Later after noon you will drive back to Kigali
