Obed Tuyumvire also known as Temba walked out from the Congolese refugee camp for the last time in 2008 as an adopted by Rwanda teenager, and stepped out into the street in 2012 as a volunteer tourism guide. Since then, working alongside travelers, he managed to dream and finished to implement a tour company that should be always alive as a souvenir of his childhood experience, the “KUMBUKUMBU TOURS” literally from “KUMBUKUMBU” A Swahili word which means: SOUVENIR.

The vision was to make exceptional and memorable experiences and being the reference for travelers looking for facilities across the Great Lakes of Africa countries and over 5 years of existence, Kumbukumbu Tours now have a worldwide customer base.

The company has mainly evolved into the Virunga’s Mountain Gorillas outfitter, Mountain Hiking and one of the trustful Safaris organizer around the geographic roundabout of five countries i.e: Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo where all staff have their background. 
Kumbukumbu Tours provides luxurious, mid range and economic mountain and animal trekking expeditions, honeymoons, regular holiday tours; Airport transfer, city-to-city transfer, and ground handling services.
